Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verifying payment vouchers, invoices, and supporting accounting documents.

  • Maintaining cashbooks, general ledgers, vote books, and statutory accounting records.

  • Processing supplier and payroll disbursements and preparing financial performance reports.

  • Managing cash, cheques, and bank deposit reconciliations in accordance with PFM procedures.

  • Undertaking cashflow and liquidity analysis and maintaining accurate fiscal records.

  • Ensuring strict budgetary controls and timely filing of statutory returns (PAYE, VAT, Withholding Tax).

  • Performing multi-account bank reconciliations and general ledger balancing.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Served in the grade of Accountant II, Job Group ‘7’, for at least three (3) years.

  • CPA Part II or a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance), Business Administration (Accounting), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Certificate in Computer Applications.

  • High proficiency in enterprise accounting software packages.

  • Demonstrated merit, competence, and exceptional performance in public or utility accounting.
