  • Our client, Kenya Tea Packers Limited, (KETEPA), is the leading tea blending and Packaging company in Kenya with over 50 products including Black Tea, Flavoured Tea, Green Tea, Purple Tea, Orthodox Tea, Herbal Infusions and Purified Drinking Water.

  • They wish to recruit a Management & Budget Controller

    Purpose of the Job

  • Ensure proper functioning of the Department, safeguard Company assets and ensure proper working relations between Department and other Departments with the Company.

    Broad Function

  • Responsible for costing of all products/operational activities of the Company and reporting of the same to Management on a regular basis

  • Pricing of all products/planned company business activities and ensuring that company margins are secured

  • Carrying out expenditure analysis on specific operational activities of the Company from time to time and reporting the same to Management

  • Ensuring that all sales contracts are properly costed and cost sheets attached to draft contracts before being signed

  • Ensuring that sales personnel adhere to the projected/budgeted sale mark-ups. Ensuring that any sales discounts/credit notes are given out as per company policy (i.e. properly authorized/approved)

  • Preparation of market and client performance and statistical reports in a manner to aid in management decision making

  • Monthly preparation of the margins analysis as per product sold

  • Ensuring that warehouse inward and outward tally sheets are regularly checked and updated against stock/store movements and all movements of stocks/stores are properly trailed and recorded in the relevant ledgers

  • Ensuring timely production of monthly management reports as required by the company from time to time

  • Ensuring up to date monthly reconciliation
    of physical finished goods and raw material stocks to relevant stock control accounts in the General Ledger

  • Ensuring monthly stock-take is done and reconciliations finalized

  • Ensuring that monthly cut-off procedures for stocks are adhered to and stocks are valued according to company policy

  • Ensuring that stocks are properly aged and management informed accordingly of all stocks in the warehouse at all times

  • Ensuring proper management of Fixed Assets

  • Responsible for the preparation and control of company budgets

    Knowledge and Skills Required

  • First degree (preferably business related)
    Professional qualification in CPA (K) or ACCA, or its equivalent

  • MBA will be an added advantage

  • At least 8 years, three of which should be in a senior level relevant working experience

  • Proficiency in computer Ms Office applications

  • Good interpersonal relations

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Good PR with clients and banks

    Professional Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in CPA (K) or ACCA, or its equivalent
