Kenyatta University Banqueting Supervisor Jobs in Kenya ; The Banqueting Supervisor will oversee and coordinate banqueting events including weddings, conferences, corporate meetings, and social functions. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to ensure seamless event execution from setup to breakdown while maintaining high service and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all banqueting events from setup to breakdown.

  • Ensure event spaces are set up according to client specifications and hotel standards.

  • Coordinate with the kitchen team on menu preparation, delivery, and dietary requirements.

  • Liaise with clients before events to confirm arrangements and address concerns.

  • Supervise and guide F&B staff, assigning duties and ensuring service standards.

  • Train and mentor staff on etiquette, food safety, and procedures.

  • Conduct pre‑event briefings and post‑event debriefings.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction and address complaints promptly.

  • Manage inventory of banqueting equipment and prepare reports.

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health regulations.

  • Prepare event orders (BEOs) and maintain accurate records.

  • Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, front office, and AV teams.

  • Handle cash and payment processing for events.

  • Minimize waste and control costs to ensure profitability.

  • Report maintenance issues and follow up on repairs.

  • Support sales team in showcasing event spaces to potential clients.

  • Organize special theme events, gala dinners, and seasonal functions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the F&B Manager or General Manager.

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in
    Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or Food & Beverage Service; Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage.

  • 3–5 years’ experience in banqueting/events/F&B service, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in a 3–5 star hotel.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • Strong customer service orientation and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in hotel software (Micros, Opera) is an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and health standards.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm during busy events.

  • Flexible to work weekends, public holidays, and late evenings.

  • Detail‑oriented with focus on quality and consistency.

  • Must be a Kenyan citizen.
