Kenyatta National Hospital Medical Specialist (Radiology) Jobs in Kenya


  • Reporting to the Chief Medical Specialist/Head of Department, the Medical
    Specialist (Radiology) will be expected to take full responsibility for patients under his/her care.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • To supervise and carry out radiological procedures and write reports.

  • Justification and protocoling of radiological examinations

  • Undertaking “On-Call” duties

  • Conducting weekly specialized Interventional Radiology clinics as assigned, review in-patients for IR procedures as consulted

  • Training, supervising and mentoring post graduate medical students (Registrars/Residents), Medical Officers, Medical Interns and other students

  • Provision of consultation services to other departments

  • Participating in departmental committees and teams for work improvement

  • To be involved in research in their field of expertise and training, which will be impactful in improving the practice of medicine in their field.

  • Participate in policy making process at both hospital and national level to further improve health care in the country.

  • Ensuring data and information is collected, transmitted and utilized to benefit the customer and service provider.

  • Conducting disease surveillance, prevention and control.

  • Carrying out health education and promotion;

  • Preparing medical reports.

  • Any other duties assigned by the relevant authority.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Radiology or equivalent qualification from
    an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a recognized institution by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.

  • A minimum period of eight (8) years’ work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Senior Medical Officer or comparable
    position.

  • Specialist recognition in Radiology from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council

  • Registration Certificate by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council

  • Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.

  • Professional Indemnity Cover

  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
