Kenya Wildlife Service Senior Assistant Director/Head Airwing Jobs in Kenya

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning and coordinating management of airwing operations.
  • Preparation and management of annual plans and budgets.
  • Developing policies and strategies.
  • Ensuring marketing of air services.
  • Developing effective resource mobilization strategies.
  • Ensuring serviceability and maintenance of aircrafts as per KCAA regulations.
  • Attending to all emergency matters and other incidents arising from flight operations.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to facilitate service delivery.
  • Flying aircrafts.
  • Ensuring provision of staff welfare services.
  • Coordination of the department to ensure commercialization and conservation mandate are achieved efficiently.
  • Revenue generation as per the strategic plan.
  • Supervising, appraising and ensuring appropriate training of personnel.

    Job Requirements

  • Must be a Kenyan citizen and be in possession of Kenyan license.
  • Must be in possession of Commercial Pilots License (CPL) with Instrument Rating.
  • Must be in possession of minimum academic qualification of KCSE - B Plain or “O” level KCE – Div. II.
  • Knowledge in KCAA regulations.
  • Gas Turbine Certificate.
  • Aviation information background in management of AMO/AOC.
  • Seven (7) years working experience with minimum 2500 hours on commercial.
  • Possession of the following will be an added advantage:-
  • Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) /Twin rating & performance "A" category.
  • Masters or Basic degree in a relevant field.

    Reporting to the Chief Pilot the overall responsibility for the successful candidate will be to undertake aerial surveillance for effective provision of wildlife management services.

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Flying KWS helicopters.
  • Participating in security operations.
  • Participating in aerial wildlife management activities –darting of animals & census.
  • Training other pilots.
  • Any other duty assigned by the Chief Pilot.

    Job Requirements

  • Must be a Kenyan citizen.
  • Must be in possession of Commercial Helicopter Flying License (CPL) or above.
  • Minimum 1000 hours Gas Turbine Helicopters.
  • Must be ready to cope with off base field operations.
  • Must be in possession of minimum academic qualification of KCSE – C+ or
  • “O” level KCE – Div. II.
  • Must be rated on at least one of the following; Bell 206 or 407 or both.
  • Additional advantage if;
  • Rated in both 206 and 407 models.
  • Trained in air operations safety.
  • In possession of a basic degree.
