Job Specifications

This is the entry and training grade for degree holders in this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail assisting in:

Coding, testing and implementing computer programs;

Repairing ICT equipment and associated peripherals;

Receiving and installing ICT equipment;

Configuring new ICT equipment;

Configuring and testing of computer hardware and software including networkappliances;

Installing of server software and upgrading of existing servers;

Performing routine backups;

Website maintenance;

Setting up and maintaining applications including Email, Enterprise ResourcePlanning (ERP) and database;

Managing helpdesk applications and generation of quarterly reports;

Installing necessary hardware and software upgrades into ICT networks;

Documenting and complying with ICT standards and Quality Management Systems;

Monitoring network performance; and

Maintaining support systems and training of end users on emerging technologies.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: - Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and

Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
