The Company

Our client, Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has the mandate to market Kenya at local, national, regional and international levels as a premier tourist destination. KTB is looking to recruit exceptional, highly competent and professional individual to fill the position of Human Resource and Administration Manager.

Overall Purpose

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the Human Resource and Administration Manager will be overall responsible for spearheading the development of KTB’s human resource to attract, retain and motivate talent.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review and implement Human Resource and Administration strategies, policies and procedures to ensure KTB has optimal competencies and capabilities human resources;
  • Strengthen seamless interdepartmental linkages by ensuring that human resource is effectively used to support the business objectives of KTB to increase productivity and increase results in order to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction;
  • Approve work plans and budgets for the Directorate for approval;
  • Advise the Board on all matters pertaining to Human Resource and administration;
  • Strengthen seamless interdepartmental linkages by ensuring that human resource is effectively used to support the business objectives of KTB to increase productivity;
  • Spearhead the recruitment of staff within the organization and participate in the development and review of the Institution’s strategic plan;
  • Monitor and evaluate staff training and development programs based on the training needs assessment to establish KTB as a learning organisation;
  • Oversee the performance management process in the organisation;
  • Spearhead the risk assessment for the department;
  • Oversee the effective implementation of the quality management systems in KTB; and
  • Serve as the Secretary to the Management Training Committee.

    Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Nine (9) years relevant experience, three (3) of which should be in senior management position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognized institution.
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field with a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Be a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management.

    How to apply

  • Applicants who possess a certificate in a Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will have an added advantage

  • Absolute and unquestioned personal integrity and high level of accountability.

    Additional Information

    Shortlisted candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. To be considered, the applicant must get clearance from ALL of the following institutions.

  • Directorate of Criminal Investigation
  • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau Africa Ltd or Metropol Credit Reference Bureau.
