Kenya Society for the Blind Pharmacist Jobs ; The holder will be responsible for dispensing ophthalmic medications, counseling patients on their proper use, managing pharmaceutical inventory, supporting ophthalmologists with medication‑related information, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the safe and effective treatment of various eye conditions and surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Dispense ophthalmic medications accurately.

  • Educate patients on the proper use of eye medications.

  • Assist in preparation of the pharmacy department budget by forecasting medication needs based on historical data and surgical schedules.

  • Implement and maintain an efficient inventory system (e.g., FIFO/FEFO) to manage expiry dates, track batch numbers for recalls, and conduct regular physical stock counts.

  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.

  • Manage medications used in ophthalmic surgeries.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma from a recognized institution.

  • Must be a registered Pharmacist with the relevant national pharmacy council/authority (valid practicing license required).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.

  • Experience in an ophthalmic or surgical hospital is a distinct advantage.

  • Experience with inventory management software is preferred.
