Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills)

Academic Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited university/college in the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or similar qualifications with a strong technical background.

First level university degree in any of the following fields: - Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering from a recognized institution or similar qualification with a strong technical background combined with the required work experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree

Professional Qualifications

Professional qualification / certification as applicable.

Undertaken Management/ Leadership Course from a recognized institution

Ability to understand and administer ABS Classification guidelines, USCG and SOLAS and IMO requirements.

Proficient in Computer application and computer aided applications.

Able to analyze and interpret technical information and drawings.

Previous Relevant Work Experience Required

Minimum 10 years’ relevant work experience in an engineering or design or work preparation related field five of which should be in management in shipbuilding or ship maintenance projects.

International experience in similar role in an established shipyard will be an added advantage
