Kenya Revenue Authority Project Manager – Data Cleaning Jobs Opportunities in Kenya
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the successful execution of strategic corporate data quality improvement primarily in the areas of both master
data and Transactional data.
Leading and managing initiatives and projects in the areas of data Migration, master data management, data clean up and Data
quality.
Responsible for providing data definitions, establishing quality expectations and ensuring compliance to those expectations.
Coordinate activities amongst different groups of Data cleaning taking a leadership role to ensure deliverables are met.
The ideal candidate for this position is diligent with an eye for detail, with
strong leadership qualities and problem solving skills, self-driven and passionate about being part of a team that enhances the Quality of Data as KRA moves towards being a data driven
Responsible for working with Business Departments , ICT and other stakeholders to define and establish the overall
management strategy and approach to data clean up, maintenance and quality control
Profile Master and Transactional data to identify gaps and errors
Lead the Data cleansing team to develop Policies , strategies and rules required for data cleaning
Familiarity in best practice in Data migration
Follow data quality process, governance, and issue tracking process tools
Identify Priority areas of data cleansing cleaning data
Identify and leverage opportunities to continually improve the quality of data management systems, processes and standards
Identify third party data sources required to enhance data quality
Continuously scan the environment for to leverage on existing and new technologies in the data cleaning and management to
deliver an improved Tax Payer register
Implement controls and compliance metrics to reduce data issues and improve data quality
Takes a “hands on” approach to data cleaning as required
A Degree in qualification in Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field. Post Graduate qualifications qualification will be an added advantage
Experience data cleaning or Master Data management systems or similar data systems
A good understanding of information management practices including information lifecycle management, data modelling and
master data management
Familiarity in best practice in Data migration
Experience with data analysis, quality, cleaning and extraction / validation tools
Knowledgeable in data profiling, root cause analysis, and quality improvement
At least Five years’ experience working in Customer Data Management, information Science , or Revenue data

Job summary:
This is a senior management position, which will play a critical role in moving KRA towards being a Data driven Organization.
Responsibilities
Develop the vision for an ever-evolving Data Quality improvement strategy that not only satisfies current needs but can be easily adapted to future needs as new sources of
data input and requirements for data output are identified
Responsible for designing, testing, deploying, and documenting data quality procedures and their outputs
Partner with data stewards to provide summary results of data quality analysis, which will be used to make decisions regarding how to measure business rules and quality of the data
Identify the gap between business requirement and data architecture and propose solution to resolve or shorten the gap.
Use data quality tooling to profile the data from business systems and 3rd party sources, define or confirm the definition of the metadata, cleanse and accurately check the quality of data, check for duplicate or redundant records, and provide information on how to proceed.
Develop business rules and data quality standards
Lead data migration activities including data cleansing, data creation, data conversion, issue resolution, and data validation
Identify and
leverage opportunities to continually improve the quality of data management systems, processes and standards
Identify and source third party data sources required to enhance data quality
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field
A Master’s degree or Post graduate diploma in business or information systems management is an added advantage
Membership to relevant professional body is Mandatory.
At least 3-5 large scale data management and governance or DW/EDW/BI implementation projects experience for large institutions in the last 8 years (preferably as lead data
architect).
Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in leading strategies, designing approaches and understanding technologies for Data Quality processes in large scale data management
environments
Strong knowledge of Data Quality improvement tools such as Informatica IDQ, Global IDs, Harte Hanks Trillium, and IBM
Quality Stage
Familiarity with Revenue collection practices and policies
A clear understanding of the Authority’s mandate, business systems and data management journey.

Job summary:
The position of Tax Base Expansion Manager (TBE - M) is primarily responsible for expanding the tax net through using innovative approaches to bring new value adding taxpayers into the tax bracket and supporting
other functions in ensuring that existing taxpayers not only comply, but also pay commensurate taxes.
Responsibilities
Oversee development of innovative strategies to bring in new value
adding taxpayers into the tax bracket.
Oversee detailed collection, presentation and analysis of data on specific taxpayer target groups to gain insights for informing sector based innovations.
Identify revenue gaps based on analysis of data sets from a range of both internal and external data sources.
Develop strategies and execute collaborative pilots/ prototype testing to meet set objectives
Deliver proof of concept for Tax Base Expansion initiatives before official handover to the business unit.
Monitoring of newly recruited taxpayers over time and developing strategies in response to ensure minimal taxpayer attrition levels
Monitoring revenue collected from Tax Base Expansion initiatives.
Identification of relevant metrics for measuring effectiveness of Tax Base Expansion initiatives.
Develop robust taxpayer sustainability plans for new and existing taxpayers groups.
Design, implement and monitor behavioural programs for targeted taxpayer groups.
To prepare timely regular and ad hoc Tax Base Expansion Reports.
Conduct comparative analysis on how taxpayer problem areas have been tackled both locally and globally
Recommend taxpayers facilitation and enforcement measures and initiatives for different taxpayer target groups.
Work towards increase in voluntary compliance, revenue generation and the supervision of increase in current demand.
Conduct field visits to meet and engage with specific targeted taxpayers groups.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Management field Relevant technical/professional qualifications
Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in tax administration or in a related role
Skills required
Good communication skills, both written and verbal including effective presentation
Ability to move initiatives from conceptualization to implementation.
