Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited Senior Human Resource Officer Jobs;The Senior Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing high-quality professional support in the execution of HR functions with a strong focus on talent development, training, performance management, and employee engagement.
The role ensures effective implementation of HR policies, best practices, and statutory requirements to support the Corporation’s strategic objectives through a competent, motivated, and productive workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition, Succession & Workforce Planning
Execute end-to-end HR processes including recruitment, promotion, placement, discipline, and staff welfare
Analyse staffing levels, conduct workforce gap analysis, and recommend succession planning strategies
Analyse staff progression and propose career development pathways to enhance retention
Training, Development & Capacity Building
Coordinate annual training plans and capacity development programmes aligned to strategic needs
Identify competency gaps and design suitable training interventions
Evaluate effectiveness of training initiatives and recommend improvements
Vet and recommend staff for scholarships, sponsorships, and professional development opportunities
Initiate, review, and formulate HR development policies and frameworks
Performance Management & Productivity
Analyse performance appraisal reports and provide actionable recommendations
Support implementation of performance management system across the Corporation
Advise on optimal HR utilization, deployment, and productivity initiatives
Employee Relations, Wellness & Compliance
Interpret and implement HR policies, labour laws, salary administration, pension schemes, and statutes
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards
Design and implement employee wellness programmes and engagement initiatives
Deploy tools for training needs assessment, employee satisfaction surveys, and culture assessments
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Prepare
periodic HR reports, staff analytics, management briefs, and statutory returns
Provide professional support in HR policy interpretation and implementation
Perform other duties as assigned
Person Specifications
Academic Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent
Professional Qualifications
Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) or equivalent
Valid HR Practicing Certificate
Membership to IHRM or comparable professional body in good standing
Management Course lasting not less than 2 weeks from a recognized institution
Fulfil requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
Experience
9 years’ relevant work experience, 3 years at HR Officer grade or comparable position
Proficiency in computer applications
Demonstrated merit, managerial capability, and professional competence
Other Requirements
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and counselling skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills
High integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics
Superior planning, organising, and time-management skills
Team player with stakeholder management and conflict-resolution abilities
