Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited Senior Actuarial Officer Jobs;The Senior Actuarial Officer provides independent actuarial advice on financial risks facing the Corporation, determines profitability and sustainability of reinsurance coverage, and assesses and manages financial risks associated with reinsurance contracts and portfolios. Reports to the Manager, Actuarial Department.

Key Responsibilities

Actuarial Analysis & Modelling

Provide technical and analytical support to the reinsurance business.

Use financial models to simulate scenarios and assess impact on profitability and capital adequacy.

Analyse data and construct probability tables to forecast risk and liability.

Assist in capital modelling for solvency and business planning.

Review and advise on asset‑liability modelling results.

Reserving & Reporting

Prepare reports on solvency projections of the balance sheet.

Support and perform quarterly reserve reviews.

Assist transition of reserving models to IFRS 17.

Review investment policy.

Pricing & Underwriting Support

Assist underwriting functions in pricing/review of life, health and non‑life rates.

Retrocession & Stakeholder Coordination

Review retrocession arrangements.

Coordinate with regulators, rating agencies and auditors.

Gather and analyse information from internal and external sources.

Qualifications

Academic

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Commerce, Business Administration, Risk Management, Insurance or equivalent.

Professional

Postgraduate Diploma

in Actuarial Science (Kenya/UK) with at least 4 papers passed, or equivalent.

CPA Part II or III (KASNEB), ACCA or equivalent.

Membership of a recognized actuarial body and/or ICPAK in good standing.

Experience

At least 9 years’ relevant work experience in a reputable organization.

Demonstrated merit, managerial capability and professional competence.

Other Requirements

Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.

Superior planning, organizing and time‑management skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Fulfil requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
