Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited Manager Risk and Compliance Jobs; The Manager, Risk and Compliance, is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Group-wide risk management and compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.

The role safeguards the Group’s assets, ensures full regulatory compliance across all subsidiaries and operating markets, and aligns risk and compliance practices with Kenya Re’s strategic objectives as a leading Government Owned Enterprise (GOE).

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Risk Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Group-wide Risk Management Strategy (RMS) and framework aligned with business strategy

  • Review and recommend enterprise risk management policies and embed a strong risk-aware culture

  • Integrate risk management priorities into strategic plans, objectives, and new activities/products

    Risk Analytics, Capital & Reserve Management

  • Provide recommendations on rating methodologies and technical pricing tools

  • Advise on capital adequacy ratios, solvency positions, and capital requirements

  • Recommend technical reserves based on independent analysis of valuation reports

    Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Advise Board and Management on emerging AFC, AML/CFT, and regulatory developments

  • Maintain knowledge of legal, regulatory, and governmental requirements across subsidiaries

  • Oversee AML/CFT programme and promote compliance culture

    Risk Monitoring, Mitigation & Assurance

  • Identify, assess, monitor, and report on key material risks impacting profitability and resilience

  • Oversee risk management across departments including RCSA, internal controls, and due diligence

  • Coordinate operational audits, stress testing, and scenario analyses

    Enterprise Risk Management & Business Enablement

  • Design and implement ERM tools, systems, and processes for risk identification and reporting

  • Align organizational structure to integrate pricing, reserving, and analytics functions

  • Participate in new product development initiatives with risk and compliance perspective

  • Drive opportunities for performance improvement and
    operational efficiency

    Requirements / Person Specifications

    Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Insurance, Business Administration, Law, or related field

  • Master’s Degree in Risk Management, Strategic Management, Finance, Insurance, Business Administration, Statistics, Law, or related field

    Professional Qualifications

  • Certification in Risk Management or Compliance (CRMP, FRM, PRM, ISO 31000, ISO 37301)

  • Actuarial qualification (IFoA – Kenya/UK or equivalent)

  • CPA-K and ICPAK membership or equivalent

  • Leadership/management course lasting at least 4 weeks

  • Valid practicing certificate from relevant professional body

  • Proficiency in computer applications

  • Fulfil requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

    Experience

  • Minimum 15 years’ cumulative work experience in risk management, compliance, insurance, or reinsurance

  • At least 3 years at Assistant Manager, Risk Management and Compliance or comparable senior management role

  • Demonstrable team management experience and proven interaction with Board of Directors

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Superior planning, organising, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Strong leadership qualities with analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Sound knowledge of auditing concepts, internal control frameworks, and assurance practices
