Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited Manager - Property Department Jobs; The Manager, Property Department is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the effective and efficient management, development, and optimization of the Corporation’s real estate portfolio.

The role maximizes rental income and investment returns, drives sound property development, ensures high standards of maintenance, safety, statutory compliance, and operational efficiency, while aligning property strategies with Kenya Re’s overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Property Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and review property management and project development strategies to optimise portfolio performance and rental returns

  • Formulate, review, and enforce Property Department policies, procedures, and operational manuals

    Portfolio & Revenue Management

  • Oversee day-to-day management of property portfolio including rental collection, tenant administration, lease management, arrears recovery, and tenant relations

  • Manage letting and re-letting of vacant spaces, distress actions, evictions, and marketing of properties

  • Conduct property valuations and advise on acquisition, disposal, and investment decisions

    Development & Project Management

  • Coordinate property development projects including feasibility studies, briefs, site meetings, and liaison with consultants and contractors

  • Prepare reports on property searches, land acquisition, feasibility studies, and proposed projects

    Maintenance, Compliance & Operations

  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, renovations, and service agreements for Corporation buildings

  • Conduct property inspections to ensure statutory compliance, fire safety, and building condition

  • Coordinate contractors and service providers for repairs and capital projects

  • Manage security arrangements for Corporation’s buildings and assets

  • Oversee statutory inspections, maintenance schedules, and compliance with laws and regulations

    Reporting, Budgeting & Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare quarterly performance reports and Board papers on property portfolio

  • Prepare departmental budgets, procurement plans, work plans, and performance reports

  • Address audit findings, risk issues, and compliance matters with mitigation measures

    Leadership & Staff
    Development


  • Supervise, mentor, appraise, and develop staff within the department

  • Foster professionalism, accountability, and service excellence

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements / Person Specifications

    Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, Construction Management, Estate Management, Property Management, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, Environmental Planning, Real Estate Management, Construction Management, or equivalent

    Professional Qualifications

  • Diploma in Valuation, Estate Management, Institutional Surveying, or equivalent

  • Full membership in good standing of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) or equivalent professional body

  • Certificate in a management course lasting not less than 4 weeks

  • Proficiency in computer applications

  • Fulfil requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya

    Experience

  • At least 15 years’ relevant work experience, 3 years in supervisory position

  • Demonstrable team leadership and engagement with the Board of Directors

  • Strong analytical, report writing, and presentation skills

  • Team leadership and stakeholder management skills

  • Sound knowledge of auditing concepts, governance principles, internal controls, and risk management frameworks
