Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited Assistant Manager - Research and Development Jobs;The Assistant Manager – Research and Development provides senior support in developing and coordinating Kenya Re’s research, strategy and innovation agenda. The role drives data‑driven insights, strategic planning and innovative product development to strengthen the Corporation’s competitive position. Reports to the Manager, Research and Development.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Performance

Participate in development and review of corporate strategic and business plans.

Support implementation of corporate strategy and monitor planning processes.

Communicate strategy and integrate into performance management systems.

Monitor and evaluate strategy implementation across programmes and projects.

Research, Market Intelligence & Innovation

Coordinate research and development on insurance and business development matters.

Collect, organize and analyze market data to generate insights.

Conduct PESTEL and SWOT analyses and recommend actions.

Perform competitor analysis to explore innovations and adapt to trends.

Recommend prioritization of innovative ideas and improvements.

Champion innovation for better systems, cost savings and faster turnaround.

Statistical Modelling & Business Analytics

Design and manage statistical models for premium forecasts.

Develop and update revenue forecasting models.

Prepare business analyses and action plans for results.

Create insights on customer behavior and performance optimization.

Identify appropriate analytics tools for the Corporation.

New Product Development

Carry out new product development and generate innovative ideas.

Identify problems, opportunities and gaps through research.

Review research methods and advise on methodology.

Recommend next steps based on research results.

Team Coordination

Promote correct procedures across

the Research and Analytics team.

Initiate and assess proposals for capacity‑building and innovation.

Qualifications

Academic

Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Management, Project Planning and Management, Economics, Statistics, Commerce or equivalent.

Master’s degree in Strategic Management, Statistics, Project Planning and Management, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics or equivalent.

Professional

Registered member of the Statistical Society of Kenya or equivalent, in good standing.

Management course of at least 4 weeks from a recognized institution.

Proficiency in computer applications.

Experience

At least 12 years’ relevant work experience.

Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a reputable organization.

Demonstrated merit, managerial capability and professional competence.

Other Requirements

Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.

Superior planning, organizing and time‑management skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Fulfil requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
