Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited Assistant Manager - Marketing and Development Jobs; supports the planning, coordination and evaluation of Kenya Re’s marketing and business development strategies. The role drives business acquisition, client relationship management and market intelligence to grow the reinsurance portfolio. Reports to the Manager, Marketing and Development.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Business Development

Assist in documentation for new products, services and infrastructure.

Plan, coordinate and evaluate marketing strategies with the Underwriting Division.

Support divisional managers in business development initiatives.

Source facultative and treaty reinsurance business locally and internationally.

Conduct feasibility studies for new products.

Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management

Design technical support and training programmes for clients.

Maintain client organizational structures and performance records.

Identify senior client personnel and maintain directory.

Organize stakeholder engagement activities (seminars, workshops, tournaments).

Liaise with corporate guests locally and internationally.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

Gather market intelligence for local and international markets.

Compile statistics for reinsurance activities.

Produce monthly publication “The Market Perspective.”

Collect annual accounts and market returns (including CRESTA figures).

File annual returns to IRA and compile industry information.

Marketing Materials & Client Directory Management

Develop and review marketing materials (fliers, brochures, seminar content).

Prepare and update brochures and publications.

Maintain and update client directory for local and international markets.

Keep custody of marketing reports from officers abroad.

Qualifications

Academic

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Actuarial Science, Commerce,

Business Administration, Business Management, Strategic Management or equivalent.

Master’s degree in Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Commerce, Business Administration (MBA), Business Management or Strategic Management.

Professional

Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII – London/Kenya) or equivalent.

Membership of Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) or equivalent, in good standing.

Management course of at least 4 weeks from a recognized institution.

Proficiency in computer applications.

Experience

At least 12 years’ relevant work experience.

Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a reputable organization.

Demonstrated merit, managerial capability and professional competence.

Other Requirements

Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.

Superior planning, organizing and time‑management skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Fulfil requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
