Kenya Power Manager - General & Forensic Audit Jobs

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Formulate and implement departmental audit policies, norms, and procedures.

Examine and evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of internal control systems and recommend corrective action.

Implement strategies for general and forensic audits to ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Plan and conduct routine and forensic audits on company operations.

Prepare risk‑based annual audit and engagement plans detailing scope, nature, and timing of activities.

Develop follow‑up mechanisms to ensure timely implementation and closure of audit recommendations.

Monitor financial, fraud, and IT risk levels to ensure compliance with procedures, legislation, and regulations.

Develop and maintain a continuous professional development (CPD) program for departmental staff.

Benchmark audit methods and tools for best practice in audit, fraud prevention, and internal controls.

Manage internal audit risk and implement mitigation strategies.

Promote internal audit as a value‑adding function across the company.

Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and standards to enhance operational efficiency.

Coach, mentor, and develop the audit team for optimal performance and succession planning.

Appointment Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, ICT, Supply Chain Management, or related field from a recognized institution.

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, ICT, Supply Chain Management,

or related field will be an added advantage.

Experience in the Big Four audit firms will be an added advantage.

Minimum ten (10) years of relevant work experience, with at least five (5) years in a supervisory role in Internal Audit or a comparable position.

Membership in ICPAK or ACCA and IIA or a relevant professional body in good standing.

Possession of a valid CIA, CISA, CFE, or related certification from a recognized institution.

Strong leadership, creativity, and innovation skills.

Drive for results and achievement.

High levels of integrity and ethics.

Strategic thinking and problem‑solving ability.
