Reporting to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, this role will be responsible for prudent management of financial resources to achieve corporate goals and objectives

Key Responsibilities

Formulate and implement sound financial policies, procedures, strategies and systems;

Manage the Company’s financial resources to ensure the budget effectively supports implementation of the corporate strategy;

Provide adequate financial resources for business operations;

Compile Company’s statutory financial reports;

Advise the Board on investment opportunities for maximum returns;

Advise the Board of Directors and Management on financial strategies and their impact on Company objectives;

Ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards and regulations;

Coordinate external Audit activities;

Implement technological innovations for sound financial management practices;

Implement effective controls for prudent use of financial resources; and

Conduct appraisals on all projects to ensure positive returns on investments.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics or a related field from a recognised university with not less than 12 years relevant work experience with 5 years in senior management; be a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya CPA (K), or any other relevant qualification and be a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), or any other relevant professional body with a valid practicing certificate and be of good standing.

A master’s degree in a relevant field and a Certification in Corporate Governance and /or Leadership from a recognised institution will be an added advantage..

Candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 including: Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations; Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board; Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority; Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; and Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau.
