Duties and Responsibilities

  • Approving and ensuring the planned schedule for inspection and maintenance of the milling machines and equipment is carried out;

  • Coordinating monthly routine inspection on the milling machines and equipment;

  • Reviewing and approving inspection report describing the results and making recommendations;

  • Reviewing and verifying Implementation of maintenance inspection report recommendations;

  • Developing milling plant maintenance procedures;

  • Ensuring scheduled machines and equipment maintenance is carried out;

  • Ensuring emergency maintenance of machines and equipment is carried out;

  • Recommending required engineering works for milling plant improvement;

  • Ensuring installations, upgrades and alternations on milling plant;

  • Overseeing the overhauling of malfunctional or nonfunctional parts of milling plant; and

  • Recommending and approving the identified production scrap, equipment, materials and supplies for disposition reclamation and disposal.

    Requirements

  • A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience, at least three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory role;

  • Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Registered with Engineers Board of Kenya or Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board;

  • Members of the Institute of Engineers Kenya where applicable;

  • Certificate in Supervisory Skills lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;

  • Certificate in a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

  • Proficiency in Computer applications;

  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and

  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
