Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing necessary pre-operation checks to ensure milling machine are in good condition;

  • Adhering to the milling plant operating procedures;

  • Start the machine and adjust when necessary to improve performance;

  • Monitoring the parchment on the de-stoner component by adjusting the inclination of the table deck;

  • Monitoring and adjusting parchment feed rate and sliding the weight accordingly;

  • Adjusting the flow rate of the coffee parchment into the pre-cleaner and destoner milling components;

  • Verifying the rate of coffee husks disposal and adjust the machine fan accordingly;

  • Checking and ensuring change over gate valve are in the right position;

  • Ensuring coffee grade storage tanks change over gates are always locked and opened only when milled coffee is getting to Gravity table component;

  • Operating and monitoring the milling plant ensuring quality production;

  • Using the control panel ammeter on monitoring the machine load;

  • Ensuring continuous production of quality coffee by minimizing defects along the production line;

  • Ensuring no spillage along the milling plant line;

  • Maintaining the milling plant after completing the milling process; and

  • Troubleshooting milling process and recommending immediate maintenance.

    Requirements

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean Grade
    D+ (plus) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;

  • Suitability Test for Plant Operator Grade III, II, I from a recognized institution;

  • Occupational Trade Tests III/ II/I for Plant Operators from a recognized institution;

  • First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from a recognized institution;

  • Proficiency in computer application skills; and
    National Police Clearance Certificate.

  • An Applicant with at least two (2) years’ experience in similar position will have an added advantage
