Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing audit review of the risk management mechanisms developed by the management;

  • Giving a reasonable assurance on the state of risk management of the cooperation;

  • Coordinating conduct of scheduled and ad hoc audits;

  • Coordinating development and implementation of audit programmes and annual work plans;

  • Conduct risk-based, value-for-money, and systems audit to strengthen internal control mechanisms of the corporation;

  • Communicating audit findings through audit reports;

  • Conducting a follow-up review of implementation of the audit recommendations;

  • Offering secretarial duties to the audit committee;

  • Coordinating identification of key risk areas in the company; and

  • Analyzing risk reports and advising on potential risk areas that require remedial measures.

    Requirements:

  • A minimum period of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, five (5) years of which should be in a supervisory position;

  • Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (Finance/Accounting option) Economics, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;

  • Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: - Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (Finance/Accounting option) Economics, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;

  • Passed Part III of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Kenya
    examination or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA);
    System Auditor (CISA);

  • Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

  • A registered member of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) (Kenya Chapter) or any other relevant professional body;

  • Proficiency in Computer application skills; and

  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;

  • Fulfilled the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
