Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying potential areas to source coffee for milling;

  • Preparing and maintaining a coffee milling and marketing incidental register;

  • Liaising with estate farmers and cooperative societies for the purpose of entering into milling and/or marketing agency agreements;

  • Collecting and collating data on coffee production projections;

  • Conducting surveys on service delivery (research & planning);

  • Participating in forums to create awareness/sensitize coffee growers on coffee production, milling, marketing, and provision of advances;

  • Participating in sensitizing farmers on coffee production, milling, marketing, and provision of advances;

  • Attending and responding to farmers' inquiries during cooperative societies annual general meetings;

  • Disseminating information materials for sensitization of farmers;

  • Providing advice to farmers on best coffee farming practices;

  • Assessing coffee farmers' training needs on request for capacity building;

  • Ensuring cooperative society/estate farmers have booking slip and delivery note for parchment deliveries to the mills;

  • Participating in creating awareness and sensitizing coffee growers on the accessibility of Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving fund;

  • Distributing CCARF application forms and guiding the coffee growers in completing the forms; and

  • Collecting duly completed
    forms and submitting them for processing.

    Requirements:

  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: - Agribusiness, Agronomy, Marketing, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Proficiency in computer applications; and

  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

  • An Applicant with at least two (2) years’ experience in the coffee value chain and agronomy will have an added advantage.
