Key Duties & Responsibilities

Duties at this level will include:

  • Assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions.

  • Evaluating patient outcomes.

  • Providing healthcare education and counselling to patients/clients on identified health needs.

  • Referring patients and clients appropriately.

  • Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans.

  • Documenting and maintaining relevant records.

  • Preparing periodic reports.

  • Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment.

  • Collecting and compiling data related to nursing services.

    Person Specification

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN), Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN), Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatric, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Been registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.

  • Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.
