Key Duties & Responsibilities

Duties at this level will include:

  • Conducting closed manipulative reduction of fractures and dislocation of joints in the musculo‑skeletal system.

  • Providing corrective treatment of orthopaedic and trauma conditions.

  • Manipulating and reducing fractures and dislocations.

  • Fixing and removing casts, bandages, and traction devices for patients.

  • Managing congenital talipes equino‑varus.

  • Cleaning and treating simple wounds resulting from orthopaedic trauma.

  • Documenting orthopaedic and trauma cases.

  • Assessing and referring patients in the musculo‑skeletal system.

    Person Specification

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Diploma in Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Been registered with the relevant professional body.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.
