Key Duties & Responsibilities

Duties at this level will include assisting in:

  • Preparing clients for collection of specimens.

  • Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms/specimens for accuracy.

  • Receiving, collecting, labeling, and registering specimens.

  • Setting up equipment and preparing reagents.

  • Performing routine tests.

  • Examining specimens.

  • Writing and recording results.

  • Disinfecting working tables.

  • Transferring specimens for processing and analyzing.

  • Dispatching results for clinical management.

  • Preparing stains.

    Person Specification

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).

  • Proficiency in computer applications.
