Key Duties & Responsibilities

Duties at this level will include:

  • Planning and organizing repairs and maintenance of medical equipment.

  • Managing medical engineering services.

  • Supervising, training, and developing staff and students on attachment in the workshop.

  • Ordering spare parts and consumables.

  • Calibrating equipment.

  • Preparing maintenance budgets, organizing, and planning purchase of medical equipment/spare parts.

  • Providing advice on technical aspects of medical equipment.

  • Initiating maintenance and repair of equipment.

    Person Specification

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Diploma in Medical Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Been registered with the Association of Medical Engineers.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.
