Kenya Medical Research Study Coordinator - Nairobi Jobs


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to plan and deliver the research work.

  • Prepare study materials including training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Prepare work plans aligned to project deliverables.

  • Coordinate and oversee data collection and management including data quality checks, storage, and archiving.

  • Supervise research assistants attached to the project.

  • Coordinate adherence to funder’s technical and financial requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with policies on ethical conduct of research and human subjects protections.

  • Coordinate shipping of samples locally and internationally.

  • Carry out any other duties assigned from time to time.

    Vacancy Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or any Biomedical Sciences degree from a recognized institution. Mandatory

  • Master’s Degree in vaccine‑related course will be an added advantage. Mandatory

  • Well versed with protocol development and approval processes. Mandatory

  • Experience working in an immunology laboratory. Mandatory

  • Experience working in a research organization. Mandatory

  • Certificate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Subjects Protection (HSP), and Good Clinical and Laboratory Practice (GCLP). Mandatory

  • Proficiency in computer
    application skills and statistical packages. Mandatory

  • Experience working with HIV research or neglected tropical disease (NTD) research. Added Advantage

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili. Mandatory

  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection. Mandatory

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desirable

  • Strong organization skills, ability to troubleshoot and respond to dynamic work environments. Desirable

  • Independent judgment and resourcefulness, with understanding of local social and geographical landscape. Desirable
