Kenya Medical Research Research Scientist/Study Coordinator - Kisii Jobs in Kenya

Key Responsibilities:

i. Assist in the implementation of research projects and supervise designated aspects of the project.

ii. Training, mentoring, and supervising research assistants and data collectors

iii. Ensure proper documentation of research processes

iv. Ensure data quality by closely monitoring the trends and completeness of data collected.

v. Provide administrative support for the trial, including scheduling meetings and organizing events.

vi. Ensure timely reporting of datasets, field reports, and documents as and when required#

vii. Ensure that ethical guidelines, research protocols, and other relevant standards are followed throughout the data collection process

viii. Ensure adherence to study deliverables time points and support the submission of periodic reports on project status

ix. Liaising with relevant county and sub-county health management teams, MOH departmental heads, opinion leaders, and other stakeholders

x. Drafting, editing, and preparing correspondence, reports, and other project-related materials

xi. Assist in data analysis, interpretation, and validation of results

xii. Assist in proposal and manuscript writing and dissemination of findings

Vacancy Requirements:



1 Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or any other relevant social science Mandatory

2 Proficiency in computer applications

3 Experience in randomized controlled trials Mandatory

4 Experience in coordinating a community eye health programme or clinical research Mandatory

5 Knowledge of research ethics and good clinical practice Mandatory

6 Willingness to live in Kisii County and travel extensively within the area Mandatory

7 Knowledge of REDCap /smartphone-based data collection apps Mandatory

8 Supervisory skills Mandatory

9 Planning skills Mandatory

10 Community engagement and outreach activities Mandatory

11 Communication and reporting skills Mandatory

12 Interpersonal skills Mandatory
