Kenya Medical Research Research Ophthalmic Nurse/Ophthalmic Clinical Officer - Kisii Jobs in Kenya

Key Responsibilities:

i. Provide guidance and training to data collectors, including on-the-job training and coaching

ii. Ensure the quality of data collection by monitoring field processes, providing feedback, and verifying data accuracy

iii. Ensure that ethical guidelines, research protocols, and other relevant standards are followed throughout the data collection process

iv. Support data collectors with logistical matters, including arranging participant interviews and managing resources

v. Address and resolve minor issues that arise during data collection

vi. Maintain communication with the principal investigator and study coordinator, and provide regular updates on the project's progress

vii. Maintain detailed records of field activities and collected data.

Vacancy Requirements:


1 Diploma in nursing or clinical medicine and surgery Mandatory

2 A higher diploma in ophthalmology will be an added advantage Added Advantage

3 Proficiency in computer applications Mandatory

4 Experience in randomized controlled trials Mandatory

5 Experience in coordinating a community eye health programme or clinical research Mandatory

6 Knowledge of research ethics and good clinical practice Mandatory

7 Willingness to live in Kisii County and travel extensively within the area Mandatory

8 Knowledge of REDCap /smartphone-based data collection apps Mandatory

9 Supervisory skills Mandatory

10 Planning skills Mandatory

11 Communication and reporting skills Mandatory

12 Interpersonal skills Mandatory

13 Team player Mandatory
