Kenya Medical Research Research Assistant - Nairobi Jobs

Key Responsibilities

Set up laboratory study assays, report, and troubleshoot assays.

Receive and scrutinize laboratory requisition forms and specimens.

Receive, collect, label, and register patient specimens.

Prepare and make laboratory orders for reagents.

Maintain equipment and reagent inventories for the study.

Supervise disinfection, washing, and sterilization of study apparatus.

Document and report study results.

Process specimens according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Oversee sample storage and shipping processes, including Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs).

Plan for field trips for the study as required.

Prepare and present scientific findings of the study as required.

Vacancy Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Mandatory

Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) or other recognized regulatory body. Mandatory

Proficiency in phlebotomy procedures. Mandatory

Proficiency in computer applications. Mandatory

Demonstrated work performance and results‑oriented. Mandatory

At least three years’ experience working in a clinical trial or research setting. Added Advantage

Experience working with arboviruses and related viruses. Added Advantage

Analytical skills. Mandatory

Communication skills. Mandatory

Interpersonal skills. Mandatory

Team player. Mandatory
