Responsibilities

  • Prepare legal opinions.

  • Provide legal risk reviews and legal advice.

  • Review ongoing cases and advise management accordingly.

  • Provide and interpret legal information.

  • Conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal information to staff.

  • Review and draft contracts, agreements, internal policies and ensure compliance with statutory or legal requirements.

  • Monitor and report non‑compliance issues.

  • Handle pre‑litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

  • Participate in policy development and advise on legal policy issues.

  • Ensure compliance with principles and values of good governance.

  • Implement strategic plans and objectives in respect to the legal function.

    Qualifications / Work Experience

  • Professional cumulative service period of three (3) years’ relevant work experience as a Legal Officer II or in a comparable position.

  • Academic Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognized Institution.

  • Academic Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Advocates Training Programme) from the Kenya School of Law.

  • Professional Membership to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

  • Professional Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
