Introduction

Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) was established in 1954 as a premier institute that provides management consultancy and capacity building services to corporate organizations and other institutions. The institute has embarked on an aggressive expansion and growth programme in line with its strategic plan 2017-2020. To deliver this mandate KIM has recently concluded a re-organization and seeks to fill the position of Chief Librarian.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement of information resources from local and foreign suppliers (Print and non-print) and ensure value for money.
  • Coordinate overall provision of library and information services across the KIM network of libraries;
  • Provide managerial leadership for the library through mobilization of technical and financial resources and professional direction of the human resources;
  • Formulate and develop library policies and procedure manuals and documentation such as strategic plans and annual budgets;
  • Facilitate the full automation of the library functions and liaise with the ICT team to manage the integrated library systems and related technology.
  • Develop appropriate training programs for staff in the use of automated library systems and other new technologies;
  • Prepare and administer the annual budget for the library within the approved limits.
  • Develop strategies for the growth of information resources such as e-resources;
  • Liaise with donors and initiate collaborations and linkages with strategic development partners;
  • Coordinate the processing of information materials and their dispatch to branch libraries.
  • Develop programs to develop information literacy skills on the use of library services.
  • Evaluate library stock holdings against collection, development and reading policies and ensure strict adherence to library policies across branches and at corporate level.

    Qualifications

  • At least five years’ experience in a large organization in an active commercial environment.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

    Kenya Institute of Management Manager Publication, Branding and Research Jobs

    Responsibilities

  • Oversee timely production of the MANAGEMENT Magazine and give prepress overview feedback to ensure that the expected quality standards are met.
  • Review editorials and publications
  • Provide advice and strategic guidance on commercial aspect of the magazines in terms: thematic advertising supplements and potential source of advertising.
  • Guide in the design of the publications.
  • Develop plans to enhance revenue generation through profitable sale of advertising space in the Management Magazine and increase in readership numbers.
  • Spearhead the undertaking and publishing of research findings; and organize research events that will distinguish the institute as a hub of research excellence in matters of organizational management.
  • Oversee the budget for publication of the Management Magazine.

    Qualifications

  • At least five years’ experience in a large organization in an active commercial environment.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

    Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement KIM strategy at a regional level and ensure that all the branches and the territory leadership are working towards realising the strategy.
  • Manage performance of the branches to ensure achievement of set targets.
  • Enhance penetration into the target customer segments through participation in the development and review of new programs and opening of new branches where there is potential
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of regional business development plans.
  • Manage the customer portfolio for profitable growth by deepening and widening the customer relationship through customer contact and cross sell programs.
  • Enhance business partnership to ensure growth of customer base in the branches..
  • Ensure conducive work environment for all the branches
    that focuses on performance
  • Ensure proper on boarding of new branch staff and ensure on job trainings for the staff in the region.
  • Ensure proper documentation and guide compliance to the institute’s policies and procedures across branches.
  • Improve efficiency of branch operations mostly focusing on Finance and Procurement department

    Qualifications

  • At least six years’ experience in a large organization with at least two years as Head of Function in an active commercial environment.
  • A Master’s degree in relevant field from a recognized institution.

    Responsibilities

  • Lead the curriculum development process which entails recruitment of curriculum consultants, coordination of the curriculum development of programs and ensure quality in the development of management and certification programs.
  • Coordinate surveys to ascertain the relevant training needs used in the development of the curriculum content and training materials for the KIMSOM programs.
  • Develop and compile the training materials for the selected KIMSOM programs.
  • Support the facilitators by creating peer networks across the branches to harmonize the programs content and support the KIM branches to ensure the success of the KIMSOM programs.
  • Set up quality assurance compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved.
  • Establish and benchmark KIM’s curriculum and training programs with the industry standards and ensure the institution remains competitive
  • Establish quality standards of service to customers to ensure customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Develop quality assurance standards and ensure compliance of all branches in adherence to agreed standards.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory bodies including TVETA and CDACC across all branches

    Kenya Institute of Management Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management Jobs

    Responsibilities

  • Oversee development, document and have approved annual audit plan for both KIM and MUA (Management University of Africa) and ensure its implementation.
  • Provide leadership to the audit staff in the planning, organizing, directing and monitoring of Internal Audit operations, investigations and Risk management.
  • Ensure a competent and motivated internal audit team through training, mentoring and evaluating of staff; and taking corrective actions to address performance gaps.
  • Oversee development of systems for the evaluation of financial, information systems and operational procedures to assure adequate internal controls are present.
  • Oversee development and document a system for continuous review and monitoring of the institute’s risk management system and make appropriate recommendations for mitigation of the risk. Regular communication of risk updates to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure review of the departmental and institute’s risk assessment to mitigate any risks that might arise.

    Qualifications

  • At least eight years’ experience in a large organization with at least three years as Head of Function in an active commercial environment.
  • A Master’s degree in relevant field from a recognized institution.
