Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute Senior ICT Officer Career Opportunities in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Contribute in the formulation of institutional strategy and policy in accordance with the set standards, such as ICTA standards, to guide the implementation of ICT procedures, processes, programs and use of ICT equipment.
  • Coordinate implementation of ICT programs in accordance to the set standards, policies and strategies to ensure efficiency of ICT operations.
  • Ensure consistency of ICT policies in accordance with the set policies to ensure alignment of ICT goals with those of Institute and compliance with regulations.
  • Guide the process of acquisition, configuration, upgrading and deployment of software, hardware and ICT infrastructure in accordance with the set standards to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of ICT operations.
  • Oversee adoption of new ICT tool (information system, software etc) through change management program to ensure seamless adoption and continuous productivity.
  • Implement ICT programs in accordance with the institutional ICT strategies so as to achieve Institutional ICT goals and objectives.
  • Development and allocation of ICT systems in accordance with the set standards-such as ICT
  • Authority Standards and policies to provide access to information for both research and
    Carry out critical evaluation of incidences (such as system failure) by performing situation analysis to ensure effectiveness of operations within the institute.
  • Carry out training, nurturing and mentoring of staff on ICT in accordance with the set guidelines to improve ICT literacy level and productivity within the Institute.
  • Formulation of ICT work plan and budget for allocation of financial and human resource to ICT activities in accordance with Institutional ICT strategy to achieve efficiency in operations.

    Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or any other related and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution
  • Certification in network or systems Administration or its equivalent
  • Demonstrated Professional competence in systems analysis, design, program specifications, communication skills and the ability to train and supervise staff.
  • Computer literacy
  • Project management
  • Compliance with Chapter six of the constitution
  • Seven years of experience, three of which must have been served in a senior management position

    Responsibilities

  • Develop internal audit work plans in conjunction with the Chief Internal Auditor after assessment of organizational activities to ensure proper coordination for smooth operation of the division
  • Develop and implement sound audit management systems in accordance with the international
  • Auditing standards to ensure proper auditing procedures and practices
  • Allocate duties and supervise audit staff to ensure they meet the expected standards for quality and
    reliable audit reports
  • Carry out training needs assessment for audit staff by identified existing auditing skills gap to ensure they are adequately addressed for achievement of the divisional goals
  • Prepare public investment reports in conjunction with the Chief Internal Auditor through scrutiny of organizational financial reports to ensure compliance with the public finance management Act.
  • Develop risk management audit framework through identification of inherent risks to come up with mitigation which will ensure the attainment of the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Verify receipts and payment to ensure compliance with the set organizational regulations for accountability and prudent utilization of resources.
  • Liaise with the external auditors in conjunction with the finance department to ensure provision of the required documentation for uninterrupted execution of the audit process.
  • Prepare public investment reports in conjunction with the Chief Internal Auditor through scrutiny of organizational financial reports to ensure compliance with the public finance management Act.

    Qualifications,

  • A minimum of Master’s degree in Business related field from a recognized institution
    Certified Public Accountants Kenya (CPA-K)Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (part III)Certified Internal Audit (CIA)
    Registration with ICPAK or CISA
  • Strategic Management Course lasting not less than 6 weeks from a recognized institution
  • Nine (9) years of work experience with a minimum of three (3) years serving as a Senior
  • Internal Auditor or a comparable positioning handling internal audit department in a public institution or its equivalent
  • Budgeting and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of professional standards
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing software packages
  • Good Leadership and Communication skills
  • Good Interpersonal and Organizational skills
  • Compliance with the provisions of the chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
