Kenya Human Rights Commission Economic & Social Justice Interns Career Opportunities

Successful applicants will be reporting to the Program Advisor – Labour Rights & Program Advisor – Anti-Corruption & Devolution

Applicants for the above position should possess the following:

  • Applicant should hold an undergraduate degree in Law (LL.B), Political Science, Arts
  • Applicants with a law degree should have successfully completed studies at the Kenya School of Law and pupillage and are awaiting admission to the bar.
  • Applicant should have a demonstrable experience in working on labour rights, business & human rights, corporate accountability and devolution
  • Applicant should have an interest on emergent human rights issues in Kenya.
  • Flexibility to undertake urgent travels and work beyond regular office hours on a need basis.
  • Ability to undertake research, analyse data and write reports
  • Demonstrated ability to write on diverse issues
  • Excellent in written and spoken English and Swahili
  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, and Research Skills
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are highly motivated, possess the ability to follow standard operating procedures, are self-starters and functional problem solvers with the ability to learn.

    Kenya Human Rights Commission Intern – Communications Interns Career Opportunities

    (1 Position)

    Successful applicants will be reporting to the Communications Officer

    Applicants for the above position should possess the following:

  • Bachelor degree in Journalism/Mass Communication/Public Relations
  • Excellent social media and digital communication skills
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Proficiency in Adobe and final cut editing suite is a must have
  • Photography and videography skills is a must have
  • Event planning, organization and implementation skills
  • Graphic design skills is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated ability and interest to write on diverse issues
  • An eloquent and bold speaker and writer with mastery of verbal and written English and Swahili
  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner
  • Be ready to undertake routine communication support assignments

    NB: Applicants for the Communications Intern position MUST include electronic samples of work done i.e. design work(s); raw or edited video clips, photographs, articles, blogs or links to individual blogs.

  • Applicant should hold an undergraduate degree in Law (LL.B), Political Science, Arts
  • Applicants with a law degree should have successfully completed studies at the Kenya School of Law and pupillage and are awaiting admission to the bar.
  • Applicant should have a demonstrable experience in working on electoral governance, transitional justice, security and related issues.
  • Applicant should have an interest on emergent human rights issues in Kenya.
  • Flexibility to undertake urgent travels and work beyond regular office hours on a need basis.
  • Ability to undertake research, analyse data and write reports
  • Demonstrated ability to write on diverse issues
  • Excellent in written and spoken English and Swahili
  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, and Research Skills
