Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF) Membership and Advocacy Officer Jobs in Kenya;The Membership & Advocacy Officer strengthens KHF’s convening power by ensuring active, value‑driven member engagement and advances KHF’s advocacy agenda across committees, sector platforms and partner‑supported programmes.

The role supports strategic mobilization, policy dialogue and coordinated execution of KHF initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Membership Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Maintain updated, segmented database of members and ensure continuous communication.

  • Lead structured outreach on events, policy dialogues, committee activities and sponsored engagements.

  • Implement member engagement plan to enhance participation, retention and satisfaction.

  • Conduct check‑ins with members, chairs and technical leads to identify priorities.

  • Coordinate onboarding of new members and integration into committees.

  • Support membership growth by identifying and recruiting prospective institutions.

  • Work with finance on subscription renewals and follow‑up.

  • Gather member feedback to strengthen value proposition.

    Committee Coordination & Sector Mobilization

  • Serve as secretariat point person to committees.

  • Organize meetings, notices, agendas, papers, minutes and follow‑up.

  • Support annual committee work plans and advocacy priorities.

  • Coordinate production of policy papers, communiqués and submissions.

  • Maintain committee records and institutional memory.

    Members’ Meetings & CEOs’ Forums

  • Conceptualize quarterly meetings and forums with sector‑responsive themes.

  • Develop concept notes outlining objectives, format and expected outcomes.

  • Identify and brief speakers, panelists and moderators.

  • Design programme flow and manage events.

  • Mobilize members for strong attendance and representation.

  • Produce event reports and track resolutions.

    Programme Advocacy & Policy Support

  • Draft advocacy briefs and concept notes for CEO and Secretariat.

  • Track policy developments and update members.

  • Coordinate participation in national and county health sector engagements.

  • Consolidate member input into unified sector positions.

    Event Mobilization & Partner Engagement

  • Mobilize members for KHF and partner events.

  • Co‑develop agendas, speakers and advocacy messaging with partners.

  • Uphold KHF brand and convening standards.

    Communications & Knowledge
    Management

  • Support development of updates, newsletters and advocacy communication.

  • Contribute social media content highlighting activities and milestones.

  • Maintain organized records of outputs, reports and materials.

    Monitoring, Reporting & Institutional Strengthening

  • Track participation trends and outcomes.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly engagement reports.

  • Strengthen systems, processes and tools for member management.

  • Supervise and mentor interns and volunteers.

  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Systems Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Communications, Economics, Business Administration or related field.

  • Postgraduate qualification (advantageous).

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in membership engagement, programme coordination, advocacy or stakeholder management.

  • Experience organizing meetings and multi‑stakeholder events.

  • Strong drafting skills for briefs, concept notes and reports.

  • Understanding of Kenya’s health sector and reforms (advantageous).

  • Experience in membership organizations or public‑private platforms (advantageous).

    Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Confidence with virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams), registration tools and databases.

  • Familiarity with social media and content development.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Minute‑taking and reporting accuracy under time pressure.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple committees and events.

  • Interpersonal confidence to engage executives and officials.

  • Discretion, neutrality and sound judgement.
