Kenya Forest Service Principal Planning Officer Jobs


Entry Requirements

  • Nine (9) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which at the grade of Senior Planning Officer or comparable position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Strategic Management, Development Studies, Public Policy, Business Administration, or equivalent from a recognized institution

  • Membership to a relevant professional body

  • Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks

  • Proficiency in computer applications

  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

    Additional Information

  • Coordinate formulation and review of Service economic and financial policies

  • Prepare medium‑ and long‑term plans, budgets, and forecasts

  • Conduct in‑depth analysis of economic performance and budget implementation

  • Develop models for resource mobilization and financial projection

  • Coordinate preparation of sectoral investment plans and project appraisals

  • Review departmental performance against budgetary targets

  • Lead preparation of policy briefs and reports on financial and economic matters

  • Conduct cost‑benefit analysis of forestry development initiatives

  • Coordinate preparation of annual work programs in line with strategic objectives

  • Advise management on efficiency of financial resource utilization

  • Coordinate development of economic planning guidelines and manuals

  • Supervise junior staff in planning and economic analysis activities

  • Facilitate linkages between KFS strategic and national economic frameworks

  • Mentor and coach staff to enhance professional growth

  • Promote public service values and principles
