Kenya Forest Service Engineer Jobs


Entry Requirements

  • Three (3) years relevant work experience at the grade of Engineer II or comparable position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or equivalent from a recognized institution

  • Proficiency in computer applications

  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

    Additional Information

  • Coordinate maintenance of roads within jurisdiction of a road unit or building unit

  • Support Manager Administration in maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and building works

  • Supervise road works and construct/maintain bridges within jurisdiction

  • Coordinate procurement of materials, fuels, oils, and tools in respective units

  • Supervise staff stationed at road unit

  • Ensure vehicles, plant, and equipment are serviced and maintained

  • Uphold professional standards and undertake quality control in road units

  • Maintain construction fleet of equipment, plant, and vehicles at garages

  • Prepare work programs in liaison with ecosystem conservators

  • Compile work progress reports

  • Prepare stores, tools, equipment, vehicles, and plant ledgers

  • Prepare log sheets, work tickets, and daily activity sheets

  • Handle project costing and budget preparation

  • Prepare civil designs, drawings, and specifications

  • Make cost estimates for civil projects

  • Liaise and coordinate with related technical professional areas

  • Coordinate procurement of fuels, oils, and tools for garages

  • Prepare procurement plans

  • Supervise contractors and consultants engaged by the service

  • Promote public values and principles in Public Service

  • Mentor and coach staff to enhance professional growth and performance
