Kenya Film Commission Film Development Officer II Jobs




Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify film studios and facility houses.

  • Collect and compile data on factors influencing filmmakers in their choice of destinations for production and post‑production services.

  • Identify suitable locations for film shooting.

  • Compile information on available production facilities, location, crew, and shooting spaces.

  • Collect data on changing trends in film production and explore new opportunities for location services.

  • Support processing of filming permits and other documentation.

  • Maintain records and databases of productions, locations, and stakeholders.

  • Assist with preparation of reports, briefs, and presentations for internal or external use.

  • Assist in film production coordination by providing logistical support to local and international filmmakers.

  • Help in scouting and facilitating access to locations for shoots.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and film permit requirements.

  • Act as a point of contact between filmmakers and local authorities (e.g., police, county officials, tourism offices).

    Person Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film and Theatre Arts, Film Production, Drama and Theatre Studies, Performing Arts and Film Technology, Communication, Animation, Gaming, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.
