    The Company

    Kenya Broadcasting Corporation is a State Corporation established under the KBC Act (Cap. 221) and operating under the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology.

    The Corporation is committed to excellence in broadcast services to our audience, customers and the public.

    Its aim is to inform, educate and entertain the public through Radio services, Television services and other Digital Media platforms.

    The Corporation wishes to fill the position of Managing Director with a dynamic, self-driven and results-oriented professional to achieve its corporate objectives.

    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director is responsible for providing direction and leadership in the implementation of strategic goals and objectives of the Corporation.

    He/She is responsible for overseeing the strategic, operational and financial performance of the Corporation. In addition, he/she will ensure effective and efficient management and administration of the Corporation.

    Three (3) years contract of employment renewable subject to good performance.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the achievement of the Corporation’s vision, mission and strategy.
  • Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good corporate citizenship through effective communication between the Management and the Board.
  • Establish and operate production and transmission facilities and related services and ensure continuous improvement in the quality and value of services and products provided by the Corporation.
  • Improve KBC’s profitability by embracing modern and innovative solutions.
  • Ensure continuous achievement of the Corporation’s strategic and operating goals and objectives by effectively managing the human and financial resources of the Corporation.
  • Manage the Corporation’s physical assets; design, oversee and implement the Corporation’s financial decisions; grow the revenue base and profit margins of the Corporation.
  • Prepare annual budgets, ensure risk analysis on potential investments and partnerships and advise the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with the Constitution of Kenya and all
    statutory, legal and regulatory
    requirements.

    Minimum Requirements

    Educational and Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communication, Telecommunications, Media, Business Administration/Management or its equivalent from a recognized University
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
  • Must be a member of a relevant professional body
