Brief Description

The Information Technology Division as per the approved structure needs to appoint a Technology Solutions Architect. The Solution Architect will be responsible for strategic design and planning of solutions within the KQ technology environment. She/he will be the leader of the process that develops solutions to fit an enterprise architecture in terms of a business, information, and technical standpoint.

Technology Solutions Delivery team has faced challenges in ensuring suitable designs. It is therefore critical to fill this role to ensure delivery of key business enabling projects that cut across the whole Kenya Airways company.

Detailed Description

• Analyze current technologies used within the company and determine ways to improve

• Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates.

• Work closely with Information Technology professionals within the company to ensure hardware is available for projects and working properly.

• Propose and establish framework for necessary contributions from various departments.

• Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources, and scope.

• Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives.

• Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions.

• Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution.

• Advocating for process improvements and helping develop solutions.

Job Requirements

Qualification (Minimum)

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.

• Proven experience in software development and architecture design

• Previous project management experience is advantageous.

• In-depth understanding of coding languages e.g. JavaScript

• Solid understanding of a variety of programming tools and development platforms.

Additional Qualifications

• Scrum Master

• Worked in an aviation industry. Years of Experience (Minimum)

• At least 3 years’ experience in an IT Software Development field

Key Competencies

• Good

programming knowledge and experience as a software developer.

• Expertise in computer systems architecture, an exceptional flair for designing information systems changes.

• Understanding of business analysis techniques and processes

• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms.

• Be at least familiar with principles of computer networks and IT security management.

• Knowledgeable in DevOps practices in IT structure management and software development.

• Identify procedures and scenarios for the quality control of products and services.

• Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes.

• Communicate quantitative and qualitative findings from test results to the development team.

• Monitor efforts to resolve product issues and track progress.

• Ensure that the final product satisfies the product requirements and meet end-user expectations.

• Spot areas for improvement to enhance the product's efficiency.

• Research the current market for similar products and compare results.

• Creative, analytical, outgoing, pragmatic, and can explain problems and solutions on both a technical and non-technical level.
