Kenya Airways Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Jobs;The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (SQAE) reviews maintenance procedures and work instructions, supervises QA Engineers, conducts audits and investigations to ensure airworthy, reliable, quality products and services are delivered cost‑effectively.

The role ensures technical staff operate within Kenya Airways procedures, coordinates company approval exams through the Quality Assessment Board, and satisfies KCAA/EASA Part 145 requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute internal audit, surveillance, inspection, and spot‑check programs in liaison with PQAE

Carry out audits and inspections per assignment and ensure timely closure of findings

Monitor corrective actions and provide independent assessment of effectiveness

Feed back technical findings into continuation training programs

Coordinate SAFA findings, RAMP inspections, customer aircraft surveys, and ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions

Handle external audits (CAA, certification bodies, customers) and ensure effective feedback and closure

Conduct approval exams for technicians, certifying staff, and support staff; recommend issuance or rejection of authorizations

Review and process staff authorization renewals and maintain accurate records

Support issuance and renewal of AOC aircraft certificates (Registration, Airworthiness, Radio license)

Review vendor applications, prepare vendor authorization certificates, and manage approved vendor listings

Monitor regulatory changes and update quality databases and manuals accordingly

Handle MORs, ASRs, CSRs, incidents, and ensure timely reporting and closure

Supervise preparation of quality communications and reports for dissemination

Mentor

QA staff, provide guidance, motivation, and performance feedback

Skills

Effective communication and supervisory skills

Audit process and root cause analysis skills

Project management and procedure writing skills

Report writing and statistical analysis skills

Knowledge of industrial safety standards

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering

Completed Quality Management System (QMS) and Audit Techniques training

Current on Human Factors and Safety Management Systems training

At least one aircraft type or component training

4+ years aviation engineering experience (with 2+ years in quality) OR Diploma with 6+ years aviation maintenance experience (with 2+ years in quality)

Fully conversant with regulatory requirements, technical procedures, and IT tools

Demonstrated experience in audits, report writing, and closure of external audit findings
