Kenya Airways Maintenance Technician – Production (Plant and Equipment Workshop) Jobs ;The Maintenance Technician – Production (Plant & Equipment Workshop) will carry out inspection, repair, modification, rectification, replacement, overhaul and testing tasks on aircraft support equipment for the entire Kenya Airways and third‑party fleet.

The role also involves executing service bulletins, fabricating tools and parts, and maintaining machinery in technical workshops and hangars in line with OEM specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification and testing tasks on aircraft support equipment and tools.

  • Inspect equipment, workshop machinery and tooling to assess defects per CMM.

  • Ensure proper documentation and component history records are maintained.

  • Release equipment/machinery with nil fault/failure rate after maintenance.

  • Adhere to company safety, health and environment policies.

  • Report incidents/accidents and participate in safety audits, first aid and fire drills.

  • Conduct security checks per engineering security standards.

    Skills

  • Basic knowledge of aviation legislation and regulations.

  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards.

  • Ability to interpret and use maintenance data.

  • Competence in using appropriate equipment, technology and IT systems.

  • Knowledge of material specifications (MSDS).

    Qualifications

  • Recognized apprenticeship or KNEC Engineering Diploma/equivalent.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Demonstrated competence in at least one craft skill (welding, fabrication, carpentry, electrical wiring).

  • 3 years’ component maintenance experience or 2 years’ apprenticeship program.
