Kenya Airways Maintenance Technician – Production (Avionics/Mechanical Workshop) Jobs ;The Maintenance Technician – Production (Avionics/Mechanical Workshop) will carry out pre‑inspection, disassembly, cleaning, repair, modification, rectification, replacement, overhaul and testing tasks on aircraft components for Kenya Airways and third‑party operators.

The role includes certification within dual scope of approval in accordance with KCAA regulations, ensuring optimized costs, high maintenance standards and schedule integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre‑inspection, disassembly, cleaning, repair, modification, overhaul and testing tasks on aircraft components and tools.

  • Certify work within workshop approval system under supervision.

  • Inspect aircraft components to assess defects per CMM and certify own or other work (subject to approvals).

  • Conduct daily audits on tools, equipment and machines to ensure serviceability.

  • Ensure proper documentation and up‑to‑date component history records.

  • Adhere to company safety, health and environment policies.

  • Report incidents/accidents and participate in 5S audits, first aid and fire drills.

  • Implement corrective actions for safety and quality findings.

  • Carry out security checks per engineering security standards.

  • Interpret hub critical list to identify priority items and
    ensure timely delivery.

  • Implement service bulletins and apply changes cascaded through development engineering.

    Skills

  • Basic knowledge of aviation legislation and regulations.

  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards.

  • Ability to use appropriate equipment, technology and IT systems.

  • Knowledge of material specifications (MSDS).

    Qualifications

  • Recognized apprenticeship or KNEC Engineering Diploma/equivalent.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Competence in maintenance tasks.

  • Trained in at least one skill‑based area.

  • 3 years’ component maintenance experience or 2 years’ apprenticeship program.
