Kenya Airways Lead, Technical Materials, ASE, Tooling & Facilities Jobs ;Provide guidance for new systems and enhancements to existing systems/applications, and insights to key stakeholders to plan, direct and coordinate aviation support services. Ensure strategic inventories, tooling and ASE control processes are in place to enable operational and maintenance continuity. Coordinate closely with internal and external parties to ensure supply of materials meets maintenance requirements. Develop warehouse storage and distribution strategies for technical materials, equipment and tools to ensure timely availability. Oversee corrective maintenance activities by outsourced contractors, monitor performance against SLAs, and manage technical assets globally.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Development
Contribute to creation and implementation of best practices in inventory control vision, strategy, policies and procedures.
Develop tactical and operational plans aligned with departmental strategic directions.
Implement materials movement transaction processes ensuring timely, accurate and complete recording of costs.
Develop and coordinate stock management policies and guidelines across the network.
Support third‑party maintenance/business functions and asset management framework.
General & Task Management
Maintain receiving, issuing and transportation operations by enforcing company policies.
Ensure aircraft spares, tools and materials comply with specifications and airworthy documentation.
Control inventory levels through cycle counts and reconcile results with OASES data.
Monitor contracted consignment stocks and ensure timely reconciliation.
Ensure effective distribution of technical materials to third‑party MRO clients.
Manage bonded warehouse free‑trade zone operations.
Design and implement flexible solutions to improve efficiency and add value.
Report on achievement of targets and corrective actions.
Maintain warehouse condition through layouts, repairs and maintenance.
Monitor material movement in outstations.
People Management
Manage, coach and develop a high‑performing team.
Plan staff leave, training, appraisals, hiring and orientation.
Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review performance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.
Monitor contracted staff performance against targets.
Relationship Management
Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast and plan materials availability.
Lead communication on material availability internally and externally.
Work with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions.
Liaise on product change requests and assess impact on schedules.
Support new business initiatives and ensure effective
implementation.
Contribute to supplier meetings and negotiations.
Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate performance.
Work closely with purchasing team to maximize strategies.

Budget & Reporting
Develop and implement annual budget for Technical Stores.
Prepare management reports to support decisions.
Approve and review freight invoices, ensuring accuracy and fairness.
Contract Development & Management
Develop, maintain and manage supplier contracts to improve materials availability.
Process Development & Improvement
Evaluate functional capability of OASES system for better planning.
Liaise with Material Planning to review stock holding policy.
Develop continuous improvement initiatives for Technical Stores.

Qualifications
Degree in Engineering / Supply Chain Management or related field.
Commercial and financial acumen.
Proficiency in computerized inventory control systems.
Proven management skills with ability to optimize team performance.
Expert knowledge of aviation processes, component handling and supply chain management.
Knowledge of aircraft parts airworthiness certification (EASA, FAA), KCAA and customs regulations.
Strategic thinking and business understanding.
8 years’ experience in material management or supply chain operations, with at least 3 years in management.
5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance environment preferred.
