Kenya Airways Lead - Material Planning and Control Jobs ;Design, develop, implement and maintain cost‑effective strategies for Technical Material Planning to meet production requirements of Kenya Airways and third‑party operators while ensuring compliance with KCAA and other relevant Civil Aviation Regulators.

Responsibilities

Strategic Development

  • Lead and manage creation of vision, strategies, policies, processes and procedures for provisioning aircraft materials and inventory management.

    General & Task Management

  • Develop strategic, tactical and operational material management plans for effective delivery of spares, rotables and services.

  • Guide components provisioning operations including initial and continuous material provisioning.

  • Continuously review materials consumption and stock availability to meet expectations of KQ and third‑party customers.

  • Implement inventory management strategy processes and controls to ensure optimum stock levels.

    People Management

  • Lead development and coaching of a high‑performing team.

  • Set sectional objectives/KPIs and conduct performance appraisals.

    Process Development & Improvement

  • Optimize aircraft MRP to support material cost management and supplier performance.

  • Review and analyze spend costs and advise on corrective actions.

    Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure timely spares delivery.

  • Contribute to supplier meetings and negotiations.

  • Perform supplier performance reviews and resolve concerns.

  • Implement and monitor service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Resolve orders, quotes and invoice queries promptly.

  • Ensure compliance with MCM, Civil Aviation regulations and Laws of Kenya in acquisition of aircraft parts/tools.

    Budget & Reporting

  • Develop, implement and control annual budget for material planning.

  • Conduct quarterly budget reviews and adjust as required.

  • Prepare management reports to support decision‑making.

    Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering / Supply Chain Management or related field.

  • Aircraft maintenance and parts repair management experience.

  • Commercial experience.

  • Proficiency in computerized inventory control systems.

  • Knowledge of aircraft parts airworthiness certifications (EASA, FAA), KCAA and customs regulations desirable.

  • Understanding of IATA resolutions and industry rules.

  • Ability to set and manage contracts with clear targets.

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in planning function, with at least 3 years in management.
