Kenya Airways Data Engineer Jobs;Kenya Airways is seeking a Data Engineer to document data models, architect distributed systems, create reliable data pipelines, combine data sources, and collaborate with data science teams to build effective solutions that enhance business performance.

Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Development

  • Design, build and support data processing pipelines using cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Build survey and voter file data pipelines.

  • Create scripts and workflows to automate repeated data processing tasks.

    Data Architecture & Modeling

  • Design schemas, data models and data architecture for cloud environments.

  • Build data assets in cloud solutions and/or Oracle ODI.

  • Document data models and architect distributed systems.

    Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Assist in quality control of quantitative and qualitative research projects.

  • Develop and execute quality assurance and test scripts.

  • Ensure compliance and accuracy of data pipelines.

    Collaboration & Tools Development

  • Work with business analysts to understand requirements and use cases.

  • Design and develop tools for internal team use to simplify complex workflows.

  • Collaborate with data teams to identify automation opportunities.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data
    Science, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Information Systems, Economics, Statistics or related quantitative field.

    Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in a Data Engineer role.

  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL.

  • Understanding of star schemas and data warehouse concepts.

  • Knowledge of AWS/Azure tools and technologies.

  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes (batch and microservices‑led).

  • Experience with workflow management tools (Airflow, etc.).

    Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration across regional teams.

  • Ability to simplify complex problems into practical solutions.

  • Self‑motivated, deadline‑driven and supportive of team deliverables.
