Job Summary
Coordinate daily cargo handling operations by supervising cargo teams, ensuring adherence to operational schedules, cargo quality standards and aviation handling procedures.
Oversee cargo acceptance, storage, build-up, dispatch and movement activities while ensuring compliance with safety, quality and operational requirements.
Support efficient cargo processing, timely shipment handling and effective communication between operational teams during each shift.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Coordination & Team Supervision
Receive shift assignments and brief team members on flight schedules, cargo volumes, ULD requirements, equipment availability and operational cut-off times.
Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on operational requirements.
Monitor workforce productivity and ensure staff remain focused on assigned activities.
Provide operational guidance and support to achieve shift objectives.
Ensure smooth shift handovers with proper communication of pending activities and operational issues.
Cargo Acceptance & Storage Operations
Coordinate cargo offloading, cargo acceptance and receiving processes.
Verify physical cargo counts and ensure label accuracy during cargo handling operations.
Ensure prompt movement of cargo to designated storage locations, including cold storage facilities.
Monitor compliance with cargo handling procedures and storage requirements.
Support efficient processing of perishable and temperature-sensitive cargo.
Cargo Build-Up & ULD Management
Guide cargo build-up activities to ensure shipments are allocated to the correct bookings and Unit Load Devices (ULDs).
Monitor cargo contour, load stability, segregation and securing requirements.
Ensure proper application of labels and operational markings.
Verify compliance with cargo build-up standards and aviation handling regulations.
Promote safe and efficient utilization of ULDs and cargo handling equipment.
Operational Scheduling & Cargo Flow Management
Monitor workflow progress and ensure cargo operations remain on schedule.
Coordinate timely movement of cargo units to weighing stations and operational checkpoints.
Minimize delays and operational bottlenecks that may impact shipment processing.
Ensure efficient cargo flow throughout the handling process.
Support achievement of operational turnaround targets.
Cargo Verification & Dispatch Control
Verify cargo piece counts, Air Waybill (AWB) information and destination details at critical handling points.
Conduct final verification checks before cargo dispatch.
Ensure shipment accuracy
and documentation integrity throughout the cargo handling process.
Escalate discrepancies and operational issues to appropriate supervisors.
Quality Assurance & Handover Management
Monitor cargo handling quality and compliance with operational procedures.
Communicate offloads, pending inspections and unresolved quality issues during handovers.
Support implementation of corrective actions for operational deviations.
Maintain accurate operational records and shift documentation.
Promote a culture of safety, quality and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Diploma or Certificate in Quality Assurance, Aviation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, Operations Management or a related field.
Additional training in aviation cargo operations or logistics management is an added advantage.
Experience
Relevant experience in cargo operations, cold-chain logistics, warehousing, quality inspection or aviation logistics.
Experience coordinating teams and operational workflows is desirable.
Experience handling cargo, ULD operations or warehouse activities is an advantage.
Exposure to aviation cargo environments and perishable cargo management is preferred.

Training in Perishable Cargo Regulations (PCR), Aviation Security (AVSEC), HACCP, ULD handling or operational safety is an added advantage.
