KenTrade Network Engineer Jobs in Kenya; To analyze, design, install, configure, maintain, and repair the network infrastructure and application components, while providing direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, set up, and configure complex switching environments and wireless networks supporting secure access, voice, and video applications.

  • Configure and set up Cisco Firewalls, VPN concentrators, and security appliances for mission‑critical applications.

  • Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPN and firewalls.

  • Set up and maintain LAN and associated components (switches, cabling, power provisioning).

  • Assist in designing multi‑server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, and WINS.

  • Provide technical assistance and support to internal staff, vendors, and partner agencies.

  • Maintain wired and wireless networks, ensuring performance, security, throughput, and upgrades.

  • Implement network upgrades by developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.

  • Maintain enterprise hardware including servers, storage, switches, routers, and UPS systems.

  • Troubleshoot network hardware/software, IP phones, and security systems to resolve issues.

  • Support KenTrade’s internal networks and external links (Primary site, DR site, integration points, internet, and data lines).

  • Ensure infrastructure changes are performed to minimize ICT service disruptions.

  • Track KenTrade’s infrastructure assets
    and ensure infrastructure and data security.

  • Ensure technology is used, managed, and supported in accordance with KenTrade standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Undertake other duties consistent with the level of responsibility of this role.

    Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in ICT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Professional certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, or VOIP.

  • Knowledge of VOIP implementation and support.

  • Meets provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
