KEMRI Study Nurse - Kisumu Jobs in Kenya; The Study Nurse will support clinical trial activities by recruiting, screening, consenting, enrolling, and retaining study participants in line with protocol, SOPs, GCP, and ethical requirements. The role involves conducting study procedures, counseling participants, coordinating follow‑up visits, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality research implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Participant Management

  • Recruit, screen, consent, enroll, and retain participants per protocol.

  • Conduct study procedures and administer questionnaires.

  • Provide counseling on HIV/STI prevention, contraception, adherence, and risk reduction.

  • Coordinate follow‑up visits, reminders, tracing, and retention activities.

    Data & Documentation

  • Complete source documents, CRFs, logs, and electronic data entry (REDCap).

  • Review data for completeness and accuracy; resolve queries.

  • Document and report adverse events, deviations, and social harms.

    Collaboration & Compliance

  • Work with laboratory, pharmacy, clinical, qualitative research, and data teams.

  • Prepare documentation for monitoring visits, audits, and inspections.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with GCP, HSP, and institutional policies.

  • Participate in trainings and team meetings.

    Other Duties

  • Perform additional study‑related
    tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution (Mandatory).

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in research, clinical trials, or healthcare (Mandatory).

  • Valid nursing registration and licensure (Mandatory).

  • Current GCP and HSP certification (Mandatory).

    Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Good problem‑solving skills, initiative, and resourcefulness.
