KEMRI Research Assistant - Rachuonyo Jobs in Kenya

Key Responsibilities:

i. Understand the study design and objectives to assist in the successful implementation of the study testing activities

ii. Screen, recruit, and consent study participants

iii. Offer HIV testing to study participants in the clinic setting as per the MOH algorithm

iv. Intervention delivery (at baseline enrollment and via SMS messaging)

v. Implementation of study questionnaires and standard operating procedures

vi. Follow up participants for retesting in the study

vii. Participant endpoint ascertainment, and training facility staff on study requirements

viii. Provide information and support to study participants

ix. Communicate with the Study Coordinator and other HODs regularly on study progress

x. Ensure compliance to protocol and procedures for the study

xi. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HIV testing progress as per study protocol

xii. Works in a professional and ethical manner with competence, accountability and integrity

xiii. Other duties as assigned by the Study Coordinator

Vacancy Requirements:

1 Diploma in Social Sciences, Public Health, Counselling, Community Development or related fields Mandatory

2 Computer proficient with good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Mandatory

3 Must be keen and attentive to details and have ability to follow instructions and procedures properly. Mandatory

4 Excellent written and verbal communication required. Mandatory

5 Must be non-judgmental and flexible to mix with all cadres of people Mandatory

6 Prior knowledge of HTS provision is desired Mandatory

7 Must have good interpersonal skills, flexible and a team player. Mandatory

8 Training on current HIV testing algorithm is an added advantage. Added Advantage

9 Ability to ride a motorbike, with possession of a valid riding license will be an added advantage. Added Advantage
